About an hour’s drive from Moon Mountain is a fabulous open-air hot springs. Calistoga is famous for its hot springs, and this place is our favorite. Soak in the large outdoor pool, get a massage, play a little bocce ball, and then pop down to Farmstead in St. Helena for dinner. A perfect day.

The town of Glen Ellen was home to Jack London, and the Jack London State Park is a lovely afternoon activity, especially for hikers. You can see the writer’s home, his grave, and the “Wolf House,” his dream home.

Just down the hill from Moon Mountain is a world-class golf course.

Bicycle Through Wine Country
Sonoma Valley Bike Tours is located right on the Sonoma Plaza. They offer guided tours, as well as suggested itineraries if you want to rent bikes and take off on your own.

Welcome to Moon Mountain

The Moon Mountain Retreat sits a thousand feet above the town of Sonoma on a 150-acre estate. Built in 1940, it still retains old world charm while providing modern amenities in true Sonoma style. We welcome up to 20 overnight guests in our main house, suite, and cottage.
